- available from
Australian Food Safety Centre of Excellence
What is the Food Safety
ToolKit™
The Food Safety ToolKit™ is a
comprehensive software package, which enables your company to
develop a food safety system covering all aspects of your food
safety obligations.
It has been developed for small
and medium sized businesses, as well as work teams in larger
businesses, who wish to be trained in food safety and how to
implement a Food Safety Strategy.
Anyone
involved in the food industry can use the ToolKit™. No technical
expertise is required by the user for most of the development,
although some users might wish to consult experts from time to
time.
Features of the Food Safety
ToolKit™
The Food Safety ToolKit™ will not
only help you to develop your Food Safety Strategy, it also
shows you how to implement and maintain it.
The Toolkit is made up of a set
of manuals containing step by step instructions of what you have
to do, as well as background information of the more common food
safety hazards, forms and examples of completed forms to help
guide you. The development of your Food Safety Strategy is
divided into four stages.
-
Stage 1 Draw up your food
safety policy and business structure documents
-
Stage 2 Set up and implement
your Approved Supplier Management Program
-
Stage 3 Set up and implement
your GMP program
-
Stage 4 Prepare and
implement your HACCP plans
Each stage contains a series of
steps and our aim has been to make each stage as clear,
flexible and simple as possible to suit your business needs.
For example, the forms that outline your strategy can be
modified, printed out for completion by hand, or completed as
Word documents and saved on your computer.
